Advanced oxidation treatment methods are adopted to treat produced water and process water from lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) manufacturing and recycling industries cover different stages to enhance recycling efficiency and reduce threat to environment:

In the advanced oxidation processes, an electric field was applied to the electrolytes, which realize selective leaching lithium ions, by converting them into Li2CO3, with heating and concentration followed, with help of Na2CO3 solution. Direct and indirect oxidation reaction happen at the anode simultaneously to degrade refractory organic pollutants. Lithium recovery could be realized within advanced oxidation system with a lithium-recovering electrode.
